Antique, third quarter 19th century, papier mache doll having molded hair with headband, glass eyes, and Motschmann-Type body. She is just 9.5" tall, and very endearing with her smiling expression. She has a nose rub. Original painting--no re-paint at all. Her lower arms & legs are painted wood. She has gray painted 'boots', and her legs show some paint loss. The hands are mache, and the finger tips and thumb of the left hand are chipped. She is wearing an antique slip, a great little antique apron & a dress that is sewn on, but definitely not original. (I'll remove the dress & photograph her body tomorrow...in the meantime there are lots of photos to look at.
Questions always welcome.
I've always enjoyed this little doll!
