This wonderful antique pewter (I think) mug, patented on Feb 15, 1898, features players in a rugby match. The mug, measuring 4 ¼” high and 4” across the base, has a gold wash interior and a glass base. The rugby game is etched and then gilt in an oval shape on the front of the mug. The mug is dated on the base and also contains the number 125 impressed in the base. The base has some small dings and there is a small dent at the base of the image. There is wear the dark finish especially around the rim of the mug. There is wear to the gilt interior and some green spots on the back of the mug.
