Samuel H. Short was appointed Oakland's Fire Chief, July 1, 1921. In 1922 he implemented upgrades to the department.  By the end of 1922 the Oakland Fire Department became a fully motorized department.  That same year the last horse drawn wagon / steamer was retired............ Size: 8" by 10"
