1.A beautiful turquoise blue field, some cobalt blue color and the rich red “Armenian bole” are utilized, making this distinctive and vibrant tile. The freehand painted Chinese inspired cloud band design can be found in rugs and textiles of the Ottoman period.Armenian artists were very prolific in Kutahya during the 19th century, producing outstanding ceramics of every kind with nice crisp lines as demonstrated in this fine example.
