You are viewing up for auction an exquisite Capodimonte (Capo Di Monte) porcelain figure / figurine.
From an estate of a lovely collector. Guaranteed to be authentic and as described.
I believe this figure is of a King or a Prince. Perhaps even King Charles ? Not sure of the subject. It is marked with the blue N and the crown which per other websites date this figure to between 1771 1834. However, please note that I am not an expert and I am just posting information from other websites. Please do your due diligence regarding the marks and their date / meaning.
In addition to the blue N and blue crown there are two orange marks which I believe are supposed to be a number as on one figure it is very clear although on the other looks a little different (see photos on both figures please). There is also an additional number stamped into the bottom (see photo as well) and from what I can tell the initial G. I believe and another name that I can't make out. (please see photo) If anyone knows any additional information please feel free to share. I really appreciate it when fellow ebayers / enthusiasts take time out of their busy day to help others expand their knowledge!
Great porcelain sheen , pastels , gold and nice relief detail on the chair. Paint has rubbed off the two feet as shown well in the photo. Those areas don't feel too rough to the touch so not sure if they are really chips per se or the paint rubbed off. It's possible that they were chips that have smoothed down over time? No additional chips or cracks although some what appears to be tiny bubbles to the touch on the underside near the marks. Perhaps part of the signature although I believe it's just in the porcelain.
Overall in great condition and a nice addition to anyone's collection. Measures about 3 3/4 inches high when measured from the bottom of the chair to the top of the gentleman's head.
