Nice Primitive Vintage Iron Ice Tongs

At least I think they are ice tongs, or are they used to move hay bales?  Estate sale find, these tongs have wood handles and a nice center mechanical action which is a step above the plain tongs that just work on one center pivot. 

Open and close easily, in good vintage/antique condition.  Measure 27" tall and about 11.5" wide when closed, handles are 4.5" wide.
