Item Description:

To your attention today - we would like to present Antique Russian oil Painting on canvas Attributed to a very famous & talented painter KOROVIN, Konstantin A. (1861-1939). Since 1885 - Korovin began to travel extensively to Europe and especially to Paris where a lot of his beautiful paintings were done. He was so in love with France that he said the following: "Paris was a shock for me… Impressionists… in them I found everything for what I was scolded back at home, in Moscow.'' From 1909 to 1913 Korovin was teaching at the Moscow School of Painting (a period when this painting was painted). And in 1923 - he left Russia to spend the last 15 years of his life in France. As one of the examples of his works done in Paris (and a very similar to my painting offered here for sale - please see a last picture of the painting called: Cafe de la Paix. 1906. Oil on canvas located in The Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, Russia).

Signature: Painting is signed (Konstantine Korovine, Paris) & dated (looks like 1912 or 1913). Signature was tested under professional UV-light and guaranteed to be original to the painting and very old.

Condition: Very good.

Provenance: This painting came from a large private collection of Dr. Richard Kruschel (died 3 years ago in Germany).

Size: 27" x 31 1/4” with frame, 18 1/2” x 26” without frame.
