ANTIQUE COSSACK  SWORD SHASHKA

Authentic Antique 19th century Imperial Russian Cossacks sword Shashka in characteristic Caucasian form. Details: slightly curved single edged blade cut with two long fullers, the hilt with black horn grip-scales and hooked bifurcated gold gilt silver pommel decorated with knobbed pattern and pair of nielloed crescents, with its original leather covered wooden scabbard.
CONDITION: The lower part of the scabbard is broken and has an old repair. The silver pommel is riveted to the horn grip by an iron rivet which is very rusty, the silver pommel has signs of very old repair by tin, and some splits in the joins


MEASUREMENTS: overall length with the scabbard: 92 cm (36 1/4 in), the overall length without scabbard: 91,5 cm (36 in).
