This is an antique heirloom that was left to my wife fromher grandmother. We beleive it was left to her, but we are not sure. It is an "S" type Roll Top Desk with 27 drawers in the top portion alone. The (2) lower pedestals house (7) drawers total with one being a file drawer and each one has a full length pull-out writing surface. There is also a pencil drawer in the middle. And a privacy panel to hide your legs. The desk is made of Oak and is very good condition. Approximately 10 years ago I replaced the jute backing for the tambor top and re-worked the wooden cam/counter balance locking system. The desk has the original key and all functions of the desk are in v.good working condition. The key hole is protected by a stamped ring with the wording: "STANDARD" and "YALE". I am assuming Yale represents the locking manufacturer and we are not sure of the representation of the name "STANDARD". This is a beautiful piece only showing wear from its age.
