Chateau
de
St
Cloud
Sevres was the premier
porcelain producing area in France, and makers there produced china for the
French royal family and nobility. Pieces were marked with the seal of the
reigning sovereign, and many patterns were custom designed for a specific
family or location.
This marvelous
handpainted piece of art was commissioned especially for the Chateau St
Cloud. Each plate made in this pattern is slightly different with
different animals or panels - Click here

can purchase as many as are still available)
Some experts
believe that after producing a "Chateau" specific pattern, the maker produced
more in the same pattern for general sale. Consequently, we cannot say
with certainty that these plates were used in Chateau St Cloud, although we do
not know that any others were produced.
