Here is an old brick that I removed from a parapit wall of the SHIRLEE SOLOMON SCHOOL in GREAT KILLS STATEN ISLAND. We are doing restoration work on this school which was built in the 1930s. The mortar they used was very strong and it is extremely dificult to get any bricks out in one piece but I was able to save a few. This brick is marked [STAPLES] in the frog. Their main brickyard was in Malden N.Y. but I have'nt been able to find out much more about it.
IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE OF THESE IN YOUR COLLECTION, HERE'S YOUR CHANCE.
IF YOU WIN MORE THAN ONE BRICK OVER THE WEEKEND, I WILL SHIP UP TO 6 BRICKS IN THE SAME USPS PRIORITY MAIL FLAT RATE BOX FOR THE SAME $10.00! A SHIPPING SAVINGS OF UP TO $50.00!
ALL QUESTIONS WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED.
THE BRICK PICTURED IS THE ONE YOU WILL RECEIVE.
ABOUT SHIPPING: USPS FLAT RATE BOX SHIPS ANYWHERE IN THE CONTINENTAL U.S. REGARDLESS OF WEIGHT FOR $8.95. IT IS ACUALLY CHEAPER THAN PARCEL POST IN MOST CASES AND IS A LOT FASTER. DELIVERY CONFORMATION, WHICH I ALWAYS USE FOR MY PROTECTION AND YOURS COST $.65 FOR A TOTAL OF $9.60. THAT LEAVES ME $.40 FOR TAPE, PACKING MATERIAL ETC. AND GAS FOR THE TRIP TO THE POST OFFICE. THE POINT IS: I DON'T PROFIT FROM MY SHIPPING AND HANDLING FEES. IF YOU KNOW OF A CHEAPER WAY TO SHIP, I'D LOVE TO HEAR ABOUT IT.
