Antique STERLING Silver & Pressed Glass SUGAR SHAKER Caster
This is an antique sugar shaker/caster made with a pressed glass body and sterling silver top. The top is stamped with the anchor (Birmingham assay office), the lion passant (sterling silver quality), the date letter of "i" (1908), and the maker's initials of "S*B", which stands for the firm of Harry Synyer and Charles Joseph Beddoes. The glass is pressed with a four part mold as there are four seam lines, and patterned with pinwheels, hobstars, diamonds and window panes. It measures 6 ¼" in height and is in very good condition with the exception of denting/creasing to the sterling around the rim (see kast ckise-up photo) - the glass is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or wear except for roughness around the inside rim, quite minor (see second to last close-up photo). The piece weighs 13.8 oz. Nice heavy sugar shaker
great addition to a collection or simply for use as a sugar shaker

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ:
PLEASE NOTE: BUYER PAYS SHIPPING - PLEASE DO NOT PAY UNTIL I CONTACT YOU AFTER THE AUCTION to avoid error. The reason for this is that package sizes and weights are estimates only as we cannot fully package items before they are sold. Please e-mail us for a shipping quote or wait until after the auction for a precise shipping cost. Our auctions end on Sunday evening, so I will be in touch with the correct invoice by Monday afternoon, after we have had the chance to carefully package your item.
I am now shipping to my US clients through USPS services. I am located in Canada but I now have a carrier service to bring my parcels directly across the border on Thursdays to be shipped out of the USPS postal outlet in Champlain, N.Y. In addition to the actual shipping cost, I do charge a $3.00 handling fee to cover the cost of this special US service. Please note that even with the handling fee that it is less expensive and is a quicker service than using Canada Post. If you wish your item to be shipped by USPS in the same week, I would require your paypal payment by Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time.
PLEASE NOTE: For items which sell over $200.00, I must ship to my U.S. clients using Canada Post, this is due to customs regulations.
To my Canadian clients, I use Canada Post for shipping, as I am based in Canada.
To my International clients I can ship by either Canada Post or by USPS (in order to use USPS for intl. clients - the items must sell for under $200.00).
Please feel free to write with any inquiries in regards to cost of shipping to you.
I would request any client to get in touch with me upon winning an item, who is NOT able to pay by Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, so I can get an idea of when to expect your payment.
My regular shipping day is Thursday.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE: CANADIAN RESIDENTS PAY GST and QUEBEC RESIDENTS PAY BOTH THE GST AND PST TAX.
Please do not ask us to falsify customs documentation.
"Import duties, taxes, and charges are NOT INCLUDED in the item price
or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these
additional costs will be prior to bidding / buying. These charges are
normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when
you pick the item up - do not confuse them for additional shipping
