Antique Sessions Mantel Clock

Antique Sessions Mantel Clock

This is a great example of a Sessions 8-day Mantle Clock. It was made circa 1930. It is a BEAUTIFUL mantle clock in GREAT condition. It is model #1617. The clock has all of its original parts, movement, dial, etc and the case, with the exception of a replaced key. The movement works great! It has a "Sessions Clock Co" 8 day time and strike movement (see picture) which chimes on a cathedral gong once on the half-hour and on the hour it counts the hours with a very beautiful and very mellow tone.

The movement runs very well and keeps good time. Very few blemishes at all! The solid mahogony case is made with a simple but beautiful classic design with the original finish that has a beautiful aged patina. All the screw holes in the back line up perfectly indicating all parts are original, even the original back! The screws look original and are tight! The original PORCELAIN dial is there (signed Sessions) and is perfect! The numbers and lettering are very crisp and not worn at all. Also, the large dial is easy to read even from a distance.

The dial has a special place where you can set the time to slow and fast using the key – at the number 12 (see picture). This way you don’t need to take the clock down off the mantle in order to make fine adjustments to the movement as to slow and fast. Has its original label on the back door complete with instructions from 1930! (See picture) Complete with its original pendulum and a duoble ended key – one side to wind the clock and the other to adjust the speed. The movement was just cleaned, oiled, and any repairs needed were professionally done. This service will save you money since you will not have to do this for several years. I recommend having it oiled every few years to keep it in tip-good shape.

The clock measures 11 inches high and 8 ¾ inches wide and 5 ½ inches deep.
