Gorgeous EARLY date registry marked 1853 blue Staffordshire transferware eight sided long box with lid & great finial that I'm told was a comb box but I'm not sure. Interior has three sections with little raised dividers. BEAUTIFUL design of WINDMILLS & countryside with cottages , church & intwinging vines - interestingly the design continues along the three interior sections although interupted by the dividing ribs. Side has lovely horizontal banding with the same scrolling vines.
Measures 9 x 4 x 3.75" tall. RARE to have NO chips or cracks or dark crazing. One side of lid has a little pinking coloration near rim, toherwise excellent crisp conditon.
Beautiful piece of EARLY collectible transferware !
