Antique Sterling Postage Scale Bailey Banks Biddle 1900

Presented in this auction is a fine and rare portable postage scale believed to be circa 1900's. This fine and heavy piece is stamped on one side "Bailey Banks & Biddle Co.". On the other side it has a series of 3 hall marks: "sterling B3501" underneath it reads: "lead weighted". the top part of the scale is removable and is embossed and engraved with old script: "BBB". See picture. It measures 4" and 3/4 tall; and the base is just under 3" at it's widest. The bottom of the scale has purple felt, which is mostly intact.
