Selling is a wonderful antique Georgain sterling silver tea caddy. The piece measures 5 1/2" long, 4" deep and 4" tall. The piece weighs 1 pound. The caddy has bands of impressed designs around the lid and at the top and bottom of the caddy, there is also an oval design on the front and back. The tea caddy is not monogrammed. The piece is marked on the bottom with the Leopard Head Crowned (London), Lion Passant (Sterling Silver), k (date letter 1785) and King George Head (King George III). It also has a makers mark WP - this could be William Plummer or William Potter. The tea caddy does not have a key. The hinge on the top fits seamlessly into the lid of the caddy. The piece is in very good condition. It has a couple of the most minor dents and on the back side there is a little line or scratch running through the oval design (last photo). Overall the piece is a beauty and would make a great addition to your home or collection.
