This stunning burl walnut file cabinet is a newly handmade Georgian reproduction. Each drawer locks with an accompanying key and accommodates legal- and letter-sized files. The top is inlaid with a surface of fine brown leather bordered by hand-worked gold tooling.
Even the sides look wonderful! The brown leather, gold tooling and walnut contrast beautifully with one another. These solid brass swan neck pulls contrast beautifully with the crossbanded walnut drawers.
Each drawer is made with hand-cut dovetails. These ogee bracket feet are as strong as they are elegant. The back, like the rest of this cabinet, is quite sturdy.
     This burl walnut file cabinet is a newly crafted reproduction of a Georgian Period antique. As such, it has been handmade by a third-generation cabinetmaker, who always uses only the finest techniques and materials available. The result is a stunning file cabinet with a remarkably rich burl walnut complexion and grain. The hand-distressed wood was treated to an elaborate finishing process that ended in a hand-rubbed coat of wax, which not only makes the burl walnut beautiful, but also durable against use. In lovely contrast with the walnut are an inlaid top of gold-tooled brown leather and solid brass hardware, which includes swan neck pulls. The ogee bracket feet are quite sturdy, as is the file cabinet in general, so it will definitely last for years to come. Also, all four drawers feature hand-cut dovetails and lock with accompanying keys, so you can store your files with peace of mind; the drawers accommodate both legal- and letter-sized files, but do not come with file hangers, thus allowing you to choose your preferred setup.
