Antique Suess Bronze Leaded Slag Glass Floor Lamp Base

The ones I will be selling are not your run-of-the-mill or common lamp bases.....but the kinds that go with the higher end lamps.

This is about as rare as it gets in a floor lamp base. It is a 100% original and fully guaranteed Suess floor lamp base. I bought it with the idea of getting a shade for it, but Suess lamps are also fairly rare, so I've decided to sell it. Its a beautiful base. Standing 64" tall and with a 12" diameter bottom, this base has enough size to fit a 20-28" shade. The base is solid bronze and quite sturdy. It is in fabulous all original condition, with a great dark bronze finish. It comes complete with its original Hubbell sockets and acorn pull chains, and also has its original solid bronze cap. Condition is what I would call excellent.....especially for being 100+ years old. There are no dents, dings, or serious scratches on it, and the finish is all original and untouched. The design is that of waterlillys, so the best shade that could go with it is their waterlilly shade, but I would expect any floral shade would work well with this base. If you have a nice large Suess shade that's sitting on a table base, this would be a great upgrade. This base is for serious collectors, and it isn't cheap....so please consider that if you care to make me an offer. I paid a very fair price for it and am not looking to make much (if anything) on it. Its just a shame that I haven't been able to use it, and it really isn't doing me any good sitting in my basement. So please take a good look at it, think about it, and make me a fair offer. I do not have a box big enough to ship it, and will not take the risk of not packing it well enough, so the successful bidder can come and get it or I will gladly transport it to our local UPS Store and provide you with their phone number to arrange shipping. Don't be surprised if this costs $100-150, though.
