Antique Tiffany Grandfather Clock 9 Durfee Signed Tubes 19th Century

Antique 19th Century Mahogany nine Walter Durfee chime tube Grandfather Clock retailed by Tiffany and Co with Elliot movement. Includes three different chime tunes – Westminster, Whitington, and St. Michael, silent and chime settings, and a 29 1/2 day hand painting moon dial. Its nine tube are each signed "Walter H. Durfee & Co. Providence R.I." includes patent number - see close up photo. (Walter Durfee was the first and finest to gain a patent for grandfather clocks in America). The clock chimes on each quarter hour and strikes the hour. Face is signed Tiffany & Co. The artistically hand carved mahogany case has a beautiful carved top bonnet. The sides of the hood and case feature beautifully carved Corinthian columns and beveled glass front and side windows. There are opening carved fretted doors on each side of the hood. This clock has been serviced cleaned and maintained by a Master Clock maker and is in great working order. Keeps great time. Dimensions: h. 101" w. 25" d. 17". Circa 1890s.
