Antique Trade Card from the late 1800's, depicting the White Tredle Sewing Machine. W. J. Morgan Lithographers, Cleveland, Ohio. This type of trade card was very popular as a humorous version of the advertisement. As seen in the pictures, a child and an animal were frequently placed in the ad to help the sale of an item. Turn the paper over and the second picture shows a woman attempting to stitch on a machine ( obvisously it isn't a White ) with her husband and mother causing her grief. Unfold the paper and the third picture shows a brand new White in the picture and everyone is all " Smiles." There are more interesting features on this card. In the first picture, take a look at the mother's face.....The look of horror! Take a look at the cat in the third picture.......looks more like a rat than a cat! Neat Historic trade card from the past.........Thank you for looking! On Nov-03-09 at 07:51:23 PST, seller added the following information: Any payment method questions? No Problem. Just Email me ; |
