This lot has quite a variety in it. I have been collecting paper for a while now and need to get rid of it. I need to get a "real" job. All of this paper has come from estates here in New England, and none of it is a reproduction. Perhaps you saw my auction last week; this is similar in a way. Basically I have been going into my office and making piles of items to put in lots. In each of my listings, you get what you see.
I am not going to list every item, but I have taken lots of pictures. As you can see, there are postcards, diecuts, single magazine pages, old map pieces, receipts, pieces of old maps, a variety of publications including advertising, photographs, some single music sheets, old labels, cards from scrapbooks, and more. When I took pictures, sometimes they overlap because I moved them around. Keep in mind also that the magazine pages have backs, and inside the whole items there are pages/images that you cannot see here- like when you open a brochure etc...Sometimes you may see a cover and that's all ther is- sometimes there is more "meat" to it.
When I put this lot together, some of the time I was thinking that this is a great combination of items/text/images/antique paper/ads etc.. that would be great used in scrapbooks or collages or altered art, as they say. For example, many of the Victorian images have some condition issues but have nice images that could be used. However, there are also some complete items as well, and some neat things that I know some people would used for resale. And some of it just makes for interesting viewing/reading. (BTW, I know that if I had cut out the individual ads from the magazine pages you could have seen them better, and then know how interesting they are!)
I know I could make more money if I had the time to list many of these things individually- as I sometimes do. But this requires lots of time, lots of accurate detailed descriptions, and patience. And lately I am running out of all of that! I think a good thing about a lot like this is that it gives you a variety that might be hard to collect yourself, depending on who you are and what you do of course! I sometimes make collages myself and that's one of the reasons I have collected all of these items over the years. Sometimes some really great images/textures/designs come from parts of other things.
As far as the dates/age of these items, this is what I know: the earliest dates are the mid 1800's and the latest dates I see are the early 1920's, EXCEPT for this: I don't know much about the ages of all of the photographs, and I have no idea how old the group of labels are (I just thought I'd throw some in). I can't guarantee that there is not a piece of something in here that's newer, maybe the 30's, but you're pretty safe with the dating here! As I said, none of these items are reproductions. I don't know if this kind of grouping has any interest out there in EBay Land..., but I also have some auctions for other kinds of groupings as well. I am shipping these packed into a Flat Rate Priority Mail Box.
You get everything that you see in these pictures.
I am selling this lot As IS, low starting price and no reserve. If you have a specific question about an item, just ask!
