Description:

Antique Victorian Match Safe Vesta Holder crafted from sterling silver. Featuring a match holder with lovely intricate foliate etchings on both sides.  Monogram inscribed inside shield cartouche.  Very elegant case with slight concave in center.

Bottom has a striking area. Hinged latch.  Absolutely gorgeous. A highly collectible Victorian piece.

Hallmark:

Hallmarked Lion Passant (English for Sterling), Maker is T & S for E.J Trevitt & Sons, symbol for  Chester City England and date latter D for 1904.

Measurement:

Weighs 41 grams.  

Measures 2-1/4 inches by 2-1/4 inches by 3/8 inch thick.

Condition:

The lid on hinged latch closes well, except for a small space on top. Still a very tight close and very secured.  Case is in very good condition.

This case has not been cleaned or polished. It is in its found and original condition. It has a dark patina. In some of  photos, the sterling patina looks lighter than it actually is because of the flash on camera.  Should polish up nicely if desired.
