This auction is for an original working antique or vintage 1940 Emerson tube radio model 334, a close relative of the 330.
It measures about 11 1/2" wide X 7 3/4" tall X 6 1/2" deep.

The Cabinet:
The cabinet is a beautiful chocolate colored bakelite with an almost mirror like quality with only a few very, very small "flea bites" on the bottom edge (see photos below) that cannot be seen at all when the cabinet is sitting upright. The bottom has some wear and scratching on it which is typical of a radio that has been shifted around on a shelf or tabletop repeatedly throughout its life. The entire bakelite cabinet exhibits a natural texture that is common on these older bakelite sets with some areas smoother than others. Overall beautiful condition. Please see photos below.
The Knobs and Dial Face:
I believe the knobs are 100% original to the set and both turn smoothly and operate as they should. The dial lense is plastic with no cracks or breaks. The gold colored dial scale has some areas of fading in the field but all numbers are still crisp and looks nicely aged behind the aviator styled dial pointer, please see photos for more detail.
The Chassis:
Almost all of the chassis looks to be "burnished" by a previous owner. The chassis has been gone through and all capacitors have been replaced as well as any out of tolerance resistors. All tubes were check and replaced if weak. The speaker has a couple of spots that were repaired but the cone is still firm and working however with a slightly thicker bass sound than what is normally heard on a set of this age. Whether or not this should be addressed, is up to the winning bidder to do. I am able to pull in many local Detroit stations across the dial. Your area and coverage may vary. Due to the remaining chassis stock parts and their antique electrical nature, it is being sold as-is described and pictured wih no refunds.
This would make a wonderful addition to any radio enthusiasts collection or a great conversation starter in any home or office.
