You are bidding two beautiful Christening Dolls.  I think they are porcelain, but they really have a different kind of ping to them than the other porcelain dolls I have--a higher, clearer ping.  I found them in an old trunk owned by my mother but have no idea how old they are--but I believe they are quite old.  The dolls and their gowns and undergarments are in excellent condition and they are clean. I have searched and searched and cannot find any marks indicating the maker.  There are no cracks or chips.  The dolls are 15" and 10" respectively.  The larger doll has porcelain hands and feet and a cloth torso. The smaller doll has has porcelain hands and the body is cloth. The eyes do not close. The painted faces are exquisite.  The hands and feet of the larger doll have a rare and delicate detail.  The gowns have an eyelet design and snaps for for closures. The larger doll has a lace trimmed slip and petticoat as underclothes. The smaller doll has a slip and and a decorative band pinned around the waste.  I know little about about dolls but I do know a lot about beautiful things.
