Up for auction here is an old violin that was given to me. I am a guitar player, and thought I'd like to learn the "fiddle". After a couple of weeks of screaching, I figured I'd stick with the guitar. :) I don't know anything about this thing. There are no markings on it at all other than "made in Germany" on the chin rest. I do know that it is very old and it has the usual wear you'd find from an old instrument. It appears to be in the original "coffin" style case and has the bow and a rosin block in it. I know that at one time this violin was played a bunch, and I just want to find it a good home where it can be appreciated. It has a very good tone, I just don't know anything about it.
