Antique W L & E Gurley WYE Level 1900's UP0137 60A2009

According to the owner of this W. L. & E. Gurley survey Wye Level, it was used by the Union Pacific RR in laying track during the early 1900's in Nebraska. The Level comes in its original box which measures 22" x 9 3/4" x 5 1/2". The box is missing the handles which were connected on the side of the box. The lid is cracked, but still intact. It has a tiny brass plate on the top which reads, "SALT LAKE BLUE / SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH". There was a larger plate below but that is now missing. The original W. L. & E. Gurley label is still afixed to the inside lid of the box. The Level itself is 20 1/2" long and apprx. 9" high. There is an additional cone shaped tool which is marked, "GLOBE". This instrument is still fully functional.  It is stamped on the arm that supports the level, "W. L. & E. GURLEY" on one side and "TROY, N.Y." on the other side. In the middle, under the level, it is stamped, "UP0137".  There is quite a bit of surface dirt and dust. It could be cleaned with a soft brush or cloth to remove the surface dirt. I would not suggest doing anything else to clean this piece in order to preserve its value.
