I am offering this wonderful sterling silver mesh bag of historic significance for auction. Made in 1924 by Whiting & Davis, this evening bag which comes in its original box is made of sterling silver mesh with silver chain and blue cabochon clasp.

Inscribed inside the rim is: “To Lt. Leigh Wade, Round-the-World-Flyer, Celebrating the Homecoming, Boston, September 6, 1924”.

Bag Dimensions: 6 ½” x 4 ½”

Condition: Good condition, unused with original tag, silver does have tarnish which I did not attempt to remove. Box is nice on the inside but has stains on the outside.

I am including in this auction an unopened VHS History Channel video of the First Flight Around The World, which tells of the historic journey made by Lt. Wade, to which the inscription on the bag refers.
