Classic stationary Handle Storage Basket looks maybe like white oak and hand weaved. There is the initial K on the bottom. Round top rim has each splint reinforced with a nail bent flat on the inside and outside rim like a staple. The bottom has an open weave which is typical of storage baskets. . While showing considerable age there are only a few disconnected weaves. This is a very sturdy basket and could definitely store items. I would use it strictly for display and decoration due to the gorgeous look of this old basket. It has a nice dark patina too!  The pictures that make the basket look lighter were taken with a flash. The basket looks more like the other darker pictures.
