An intriguing, very solid cast metal figurine of an armed infantryman. The soldiers helmet- held at his side is a distinctive familiar shape I trust will help to identify the country and era of the soldier depicted? Please email if you can assist in his identification- greatly appreciated. My hunch at this stage is British- perhaps Colonial? The piece is solid cast and very heavy- and has a recess and screw holes at back- perhaps this was intended as a lamp base? I think it must be cast iron, with a bronze or similar plated surface, worn in places as shown
