A great looking old ROUND BASE / BOTTOM SODA bottle with a very crudely APPLIED BLOB top. Bottle is a nice BLUE - GREEN AQUA COLOR and it is an early, hand blown into mold bottle.
These are always a good conversation piece as they are very uniquely shaped. The best explanation that I've heard about the shape of this bottle is that they were bottled in Ireland with carbonated Ginger Ale, and then shipped across the ocean to the US. With the round base, they would not stand up but instead, lie on their sides, that way keeping the cork wet so it would not dry out and have the carbonation escape. Sounds reasonable to me, and sometimes you find them embossed 'DUBLIN', 'BELFAST', showing that their is some merit to this explanation. Anyway, this one is a choice example, nice and clean, early and crude, and found in an old western Montana town, check it out!
