Old wood primitive mangle board rolling - pin and paddle for wash 1881 years

Description: Old primitive wooden mangle board rolling - pin and paddle for wash from Lithuania. Height 79cm; 78cm.Rolling-pin is the oldest ironing tool in Lithuania. Mostly it was used  to iron towels, counterpanes, bedding and tablecloths. Rolling-pin comprises of two parts. The slick wooden stick has to be wrapped in a piece of laundry which has to be rolled with the other part of the rollingpin (the toothed one) holding onto its handle. It must be rolled a lot of  imes, starting from a person who’s doing that and forward, pulling it backwith the left hand and rolling it forward again. Very smooth table and some sprayed water would cause better results.  Height 57 cm.The oldest and the most primitive washing tool in Lithuania was a dolly. Usually it was made of hard wood for a longer usage. After using the dolly it was necessary  to dry it under the sun, or on a stove (if it was winter time). Clothes, counterpanes and other laundry were macerated and hammered with the dolly, then flexed or turned in a different way and, after pouring some more water, hammered again.
