I've been dealing with antiques for most of my life, way before selling on Ebay. I can spot a reproduction piece a mile away. I will confess I am stumped on this item, and can't guarantee it to be an antique, or even very old. It may be a reproduction. I know this comes out of a forfeited storage unit in Flagstaff, Arizona where it was stored in a climate-controlled environment for around 20 years.
Examining the horse, I can see the small age cracks and lines you might expect of an older piece... lines where the wood was joined, and some age cracks in the wood itself. The tail came to us off the horse, but we have done what I think is a good repair and it's attached well. The tail has some signs of previous repair as well. You'll also notice in a couple of photos one rocker has lost a chunk of wood at the front. There's also wear and scuffing to the paint, whether from age or by clever design.
Solid wood here... NO part of this thing is manmade materials at all. Heavy and solid as you might expect.
It could use a good cleaning and detailing by it's next owner. I checked all over and found no major issues or damage that is not disclosed here so you won't have any unexpected surprises.
This measures about 37" high at it's tallest point, and about 36" long from front to back. There's a loop carned into the wood at the top of the mane to insert a rope or strap if you wish.
You can bid with confidence on this one, guys... if you like it a little in the pictures, you will love it in real life.
