Apple IIgs/IIc+ Null Modem
Adapts Apple IIgs and Apple IIc+ serial ports to 9-pin serial ports
Tested and for use with ADTPro disk transfer software
This auction is for one null modem cable. On one end is a male
MiniDIN-8 connector, and on the other end is a female DE-9 connector.
This will adapt an Apple IIgs or Apple IIc+ (not the original IIc, as
those have DIN-5 serial ports) to a typical PC serial port. This cable
will allow you to transfer disks and disk images between your
contemporary computer and a vintage Apple IIgs or Apple IIc+ using the
free ADTPro software package.
If you have an Apple IIgs or IIc+, this is the device for you. It will
connect to the "modem" serial port on the back of the IIgs, shown
below:
If you have an Apple IIc+, this is the device for you too. It will connect to the "modem" serial port on the back, shown below:
This cable will allow you to transfer disks and disk images between
your contemporary computer and vintage Apple IIgs/IIc+ using the free ADTPro software package. The exact pinout of this cable is described on the ADTPro site here.
PCs generally have standard serial DE-9 serial ports. But if you
have an ultra-modern PC or any contemporary Apple Macintosh running
OSX, you will need an additional adapter, not part of this auction - a
USB to DE-9 adapter, typical of
Lindy, Keyspan, and many others.
