* You are bidding on the Apple iBook pictured here, serial #UV3254TQNDF. Its case is clean with strong screen hinges and no damage.
* Apple series A1005, model number M8861LL/A
* 12" screen with 1024 x 768 resolution. Screen is in good condition - when it wants to light up. There are some faint marks from the keyboard on the bottom of the screen.
* 32MB of video RAM and ATI Radeon 7500 graphics processor
* 384MB of RAM (upgradeable to 640MB)
* 30 GB hard drive
* Tray-loading DVD-Rom / CD-RW combo drive. Reads DVDs at 8X, Reads CDs 24x, writes to CD-R media at 16X, and writes to CD-RW at 8X. We installed the OS with this drive but have not tested its writing capabilities.
* 10/100 ethernet port
* 2 USB 1.1 ports, one 400 Mb/sec Firewire port, plus Apple v.92 56K internal modem
* The included battery takes a charge and lasts at least long enough for the laptop to boot.
* We performed a clean install of Mac OS 10.3 (Panther) before taking our pictures. The winning bidder will need to personalize the OS.
* When one grabs the left side of this iBook and squeezes (or sometimes when one merely bumps it) the screen will flicker and the entire laptop locks up. Unless you wait about an hour, there will be no display the next time you power it on.
* You are bidding on the iBook only. It does not come with any disks, manuals, cables, or software. Please note that the AC adapter and Airport card are NOT included with this iBook. Also, it does not keep date and time when powered off for a long time..
