Up for auction is a used jailbroken Apple Iphone 3g 8gb with 3.1.2 OS installed which was given to me to try to repair.  This is for the phone only, no cables, headset or original box included.  The phone is in very good physical shape, screen is clean with no scratches or cracks.  The back has some light scratches on the botton a little more heavier on the logo.

There are functional issues with this phone, specifically:

"No Signal" message (with AT&T/Cingular sim inserted);

Home button does not work, using "soft" home button via Cydia instead;

Stuck in recovery mode loop if plugged in to computer and turned on, unplugging and restarting will boot it back to normal;

Apple USB cable needs to be inserted at an angle, the phone's metal area near the jack is not aligned correctly.  Will plug in though.

This is an "as-is" sell for parts/repair, serious bidders only.  Thanks for looking.

Update:  Applied unlock to phone and now AT&T and T-Mobile signal comes in intermittently, seems to work best in areas where the signal is strong.  I was able to web browse and place a call and found out that the phone's earpiece does not work.  Using a headset or speakerphone did work though.
