Apple iPod Touch 1st Generation 8 GB MP3 Player + iHome

       For sale is a 1g ( 1st gen ) 8 gigabyte iPod Touch with iHome carrying case / charger / speaker system. The iPod is in good physical condition with one issue regarding its function. While replacing its screen I managed to break the ribbon cable connecting the main board with the WiFi antenna. This has left the WiFi on the unit nonfunctional. This may be fixable if one knows how to solder the cable to the main board or knows a electronics shop that can. I have left the iPod open so the buyer can further pursue the repair of this aspect if so desired. On the plus side, the Pod does have a brand spanking new digitizer (touch) screen and everything else you would expect from a touch. Most of the available applications are still applicable (all the ones that don't require WiFi), you just have to download them from a computer. Another thing to take note of is that I decided to follow one of the tutorials that are found on the net to give the back metal case a polished stainless steel look. I accomplished this effect using fine sand paper (250 grit), very fine sandpaper (450 grit) and a microfiber cloth to finish. The original purpose of this was to give the plate a more uniform appearance but I found that the polished metal looks and feels quite nice. The iHome is in great condition, runs on four AA batteries, and its specs can be found on the following website: www.ihomeaudio.com/iH13 (not a link).  Overall, we have here a highly portable game / music / movie device that is rechargeable, fun, and usefull even without wifi.
