Arcade Imperial Box Coffee Grinder No. 999, ca 1894

 Circa late 1800s Arcade Imperial box coffee grinder.  Faded remnant of label on front of box - can still just barely make out "Imperial", "999", and "Arcade Manu...".  Overall height to top of wooden knob on the cast iron crank is 12 1/4 inches  Wooden box top and bottom are 7 inches square.  Cast iron parts and mechanism all appear to work.  Wooden box and drawer all have dovetail joints;  drawer has a small cast iron knob.  Square wood base has a slight warp - curves slightly upward in the middle.  The right side of box has an age crack in the wood near the top.  The bottom of the drawer has an old penciled notation "Arcade Mfg Co.  Pat. June 9  1894".  The bottom of the box also has the same penciled notation.  This is a very nice old Arcade coffee grinder.
