Even though Arnie holds the master of fine arts degree from the University of Cincinati, he contends the experience has been his best teacher. During his thirty years in Alaska he has experimented with many styles and mediums; bronze, oil, stone, wood, watercolor, printmaking, and jewelry making, to name a few. Snow sculping should be added to this list. Weimer captained teams that placed in the capital City Snow Sculping Competition. They won first and second place in consecutive years. The first place team represnted Alaska in Milwaukee, Wisconcin where the National competittion was held. This team won a Spectators Choice Award in that event for the sculpture of a Tlingit Chief. Another notable honor was a first place award in the printmaking division of the Alaska Arts Exhibit. This exhibit was held to commemorate the twenty-fifth year of Alaska's statehood.
Arnie worked with many native artist swhile he was employed by the indian studies program in the juneau public schools. He also operated a studio for the several years where many Alaskan artists gathered to practice their work. Consequently, much of his work shows an influence of the art forms indigenous to Alaska.
He now lives in Juneau spending his time painting as often as possible
