The traveling case for this 1930s Art Deco vanity set is 10" by 12 1/2" and is 3" high. The outside of the case is imitation leather and has brass hinges and a chrome clasp. The clasp is quite tight and your have to push hard on it to open or close the case.
There are 2 missing items, possibly a round tube for tooth powder. Next to the mirror is a space that might have held a comb.
There is a beveled mirror that is 5 1/2" by 11".. It has a bit of haze under the glass, as a lot of old mirrors have.
There is a hair brush that is 7 1/2" and has a some bent bristles, but none worn off.
There is a button hook, a nail file and a shoe horn.
There is a nail buffer with it's own case. The buffer has almost spotless, very soft chamois. The chamois is held in place by a small band of ivory color celluloid.
There are 3 boxes or containers with their lids.
The long rectangle box could have been for a tooth brush with a small place for dental floss.
All of these pieces have some scratches, loss of trim, and show that they have been used.
There are some glares and shadows, mostly a shadow on the left side of mirror and a glare on the box next to the mirror in the 1st picture.
4 of the items have just gold & silver color lines for decoration. The mirror, brush and the 3 boxes have the lines and a flower with a butterfly, very Art Deco.
The fabric lining resembles 'watered silk', but I don't think it is silk.
