For auction is this stunning Art Deco Czech or French Glass Gravity Bowl Pendant Chandelier circa 1925 - 1940. This is probably the most beautiful pendant light I have ever seen! This large pendant bowl is artfully composed of elegant swirls of pastel pinks, yellows and blues - all amidst a clean frosted base. The basic shape of the bowl is adorned with subtle 'steps' on its posterior surface - adding a bit of interest to this already gorgeous piece! The shade also includes it's original brass hardware - the chain hooks are attached with the original screws, nuts and bolts and have a great original patina. Likewise the hanging apparatus is original and has not been polished/cleaned...its striking! There is a central bulbous piece of brass from which the chains and electrical mechanics hand. Every detail of this aparatus is remarkably made...craftsmanship at its finest. The heavy brass links attach to the hooks on the shade and these are the only places of attachment for the shade - it is totally suspended! The 'crown' can be directly anchored in your ceiling or be refitted to fit your needs. Additionally, this piece will need to be rewired, but it is a very very simple fix and can be fixed with material easily found at your local hardware or lighting store. This entire piece - shade, hardware and chains - is in excellent condition with no damage, cracks, chips, hairlines or repairs! When the light shines through this shade it is utter magic - a subtle, soft, elegant light that would set the mood for any room that has the priviledge of its company! This shade could actually be detached from the fixture and the hooks/screws/nuts/bolts removed and used on an existing light as it has a lip that could screw into any fitting fixture (see picture #12). The light shade measures 12" in diameter at its widest point and measures 6" from the top of the shade to the bottom of the shade. The diameter at the 'lip' or mouth of the shade is 8.5" (this is the measurement that would be needed if the shade was going to be used on another fixture). When hanging, the fixture and shade have a hanging length of 20" - this could very easily be adjusted by adding or removing chain lengths. The central chain hangs slightly lower than the other three as it hangs the light and hangs further into the shade. Don't miss out on this rare and spectacular offering!!!
