Just when you think you’ve seen pretty much all the various green glass patterns around- this truly unusual piece turns up! How to describe the unusual asymmetrical base to this wide flared rim centerpiece or serving platter? Just well- unusual I guess! And indeed very striking. The bowl graduates seamlessly from a square base into a round rim and has a decidedly Art Deco era sensibility. The bowl glows under UV light due to its uranium oxide content- whilst to avoid disappointment I would add its NOT the brightest glowing glass piece I have handled. Condition is excellent- lots of nice base ware due to genuine age- but no chipping or cracks at all. No makers marks- probably English ca 1930s
