Art Nouveau Hallmarked Silver on Oak Picture Frame 1908

Art Nouveau hallmarked silver embossed front on oak picture frame. The hallmark is not clear but looks like Birmingham 1908. It is a lovely item but does have quite a bit of damage (see photos). The piece to stand it up is also missing.The overall look of the elaborate silver work on the lovely oak is really nice. Measures approx. 6.3/4" square (17cm) and weighs 228g.

I have just received a query from an e-Bayer saying that the pictures do not show the damage clearly enough so I have added 5 more, including one to show that the frame is hallmarked (last photo). I do want to stress that this frame is quite badly damaged with holes in the silver and the silver is lifting from the actual frame in places.It is quite a soft silver. I personally think that it is still a really nice example of the art nouveau period but perhaps has found the past 100 years a little 'distressing'. I feel that I have given a full and accurate description and will be happy to answer any further queries your may have. I do have a 'no quibble' refund policy. If you bid successfully but then decide you would rather not keep it, you can send it back and receive a full refund of the item price (you will need to pay the return postage). Hope this helps. Liz
