NY: New American Library (1968),Hardcover. First Edition of the author's classic work. Novelization of the film which was based in part on the short story "The Sentinel. An uncommon first edition, basis for (and released simultaneously with) Stanley Kubrick's 1968 science fiction classic, the standard by which all science fiction films since have been judged.
Blue paper covered boards with black board spine, titles in silver and blue. Bookplate to front fixed endpaper, minor darkening to board edges, solid VERY GOOD+ copy, entirely free of remainder mark, names, dog-ears or other depredations.
Dust wrapper with tears and several small chips, lightly stained along bottom edge; correct first issue dust wrapper with $4.95 price to flap, no reviews to rear. An archival mylar cover will be provided.
Note the tanning evident in our photo of front flap is an artifact of the camera, the wrapper is not yellowed.
