This opaque amber is wedge shaped, about 3 ¼” long, 1 ¾” x 1 ¾” x 2”

This specimen weighs 74.8 grams.

Baltic opaque amber is the hardest of all amber, and thus preferred for use as jewelry. Large pieces like this were often carved by artists for chess pieces, intaglios, animal forms, etc.

Baltic amber resin was mostly produced by the tree Pinites succinifer, and the deposits are about 30-50 million years old.

I stand behind that the represented amber as natural Baltic amber.
