20" French Antique Reproduction Etienne Denamur
(This is a 5-day listing due to the upcoming holiday weekend)
Offered with a low opening bid and NO RESERVE (plus a bonus BIN offer for early bidders) is an absolutely gorgeous artist's rendition of French antique doll originally manufactured by Etienne Denamur starting in 1889 until 1898. Marked E 10 D, the mold is known for the large eyes and heavy eyebrows that are placed close together. This doll was created by doll artist Dawn Johnson and is signed behind her ear "Dawn J" and dated "10/07."
She has wonderful, bulging paperweight glass eyes in an ocean-blue color that you can get lost in! She is wearing vintage glass pierced earrings with a hint if blue that brings out her eyes. She stands approximately 20 inches tall on an older French composition body that has straight wrists and is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. The body is nicely strung but does have some marks and dings. Pinned to a styrofoam pate is a lovely brown mohair wig with wispy bangs and a side part.
Her outfit is made from rose-beige raw silk. It fastens up the front with silk-covered buttons over hidden hooks and eyes. The front has soft pleating with ruching that creates a drop waist skirt. Both the dress and matching bonnet are embellished with antique lace. The hat features cream tule netting and dusty mauve flowers. She also wears white cotton undies including a full slip and pantaloons, ecru knit-lace stockings and hand-made gray-taupe leather shoes.
Please peruse all the pictures to see the full detail on this doll. She is amazingly sweet and will stand (or sit!) proudly next to your antique or antique reproduction Jumeau, Bru, Steiner or A. Thuillier!

NOTICE TO BIDDERS WITH LESS THAN 5 FEEDBACK RATINGS:
If you are considering bidding on this doll and you are new to the eBay community, please contact me before bidding. I would like the opportunity to "meet you" and discuss (via e-mail) payment options with you before you bid. I hate that I must put such a qualification on this auction, but I cannot afford to risk having this auction go to someone who is unfamiliar with the system and does not understand the commitment a bid implies. If you bid before contacting me, not to worry! I will try to reach you by e-mail --but I do reserve the right to cancel your bid if I cannot communicate with you. Thanks for your understanding!
