Piano Roll
Storm now comes with an ergonomic and elegant Piano Roll. Edit patterns, edit control curves, edit MIDI sequences. Choose the level of detail you need and keep a history of every action.
Full MIDI Management
Storm 3 enables you to import and edit MIDI files. In addition, the software can be synchronized as Master or Slave with external harware gears.
And this is not all, all knobs within the Storm studio can be assigned to a midi channel and be controlled through a keyboard or any other hardware controller. This make it simple to integrate all your audio material.
New Audio/MIDI sequencer
The sequencer allows full control over every detail of your Audio, MIDI or pattern-based recordings. Thanks to the static recording mode, you can program your song conveniently. And with the dynamic recording mode, sequence in real time and make music on the fly. Just like the mixing table, the sequencer can be detached from the rest of the studio.
New mixing table
Storm 3 comes with an improved powerfull mixing table for a better control of your compositions.
GM Synth

GM Synth
A new synthesizer, the GM synth is now available. Loaded with more than 220 general MIDI sounds it is the perfect tool for creating acoustic music.
Shadow
Shadow is a synthesizer fully designed for creating convincing chords and pads. Thanks to high-quality features (pulse width modulation, no sampling, no aliasing), it provides you with a very pure sound, while emulating an analog sound close to the famous analog synthesizers of the 80's.

Hork

Psion
The Psion drum machine provides you with a percussion kit: cymbals and charleys rendering a light and metallic sound; a bass drum and a tom, giving more of an "electronic" flavour.
Scratch
Drag & drop the samples you wish to mix on the deck. The samples are automatically set on the beat. You can then control the pitch of both decks, as well as the fader between them. Click on one of the decks, a hand is displayed and you can scratch while moving the fader.
H3O+
Four tracks are available on which to place samples to be played in parallel with the synthesis.
With the time-stretching and pitch-shifting features, your samples immediately get the proper tonality and follow your piece rhythm. But you may also desynchronize them, change their tonality, or simply duplicate and transpose them. All modifications are made at once, that's the magic of Time Stretching/Pitch Shifting in real time.
You can import MP3s, Waves or AIFF, everything is allowed. Moreover, Storm detects automatically the beat of imported samples.
Equinoxe
With this, you may create chords to accompany your composition.
This module associates three sounds and allows the creation of rich and evolutive background chords. Three superimposed oscillators... and a maximum control on all envelope and filter parameters: attack, decay, resonance, modulation, cut-off,..
Programming the chord grid is very simple and is performed, as always in Storm, in real time.
Puma
The Puma drum machine offers a variety of exotic percussion sounds, with the same facility of programming as Meteor and Tsunami.
Meteor
This drum machine offers the sound samples that gave electronic music its place in history (do you know TR-909?). As is the case with Tsunami, it is fairly simple to create a new rhythmic grid with four various dynamic levels for each beat. You may modify the pitch and decay of each sound, everything will be recorded dynamically in your pattern.
Tsunami
The Tsunami module is a 100% synthesized drum machine with 8 oscillators all fitted with various controllers: amplitude, frequency envelopes, band-pass filters, panoramic and level of each sound.
Each control is recorded dynamically to create your own patterns with astounding sounds !
Arsenic
The Arsenic module is a real-time bass line synthesizer.
It includes 64 programmable presets, several shapes of adjustable waves, a set of different dynamics for each note, and a low-pass resonance filter modulated by a cut-off frequency.
Conclusion : an immense variety of vintage sounds with a few clicks.
EFFECT MODULES:
Storm presently hosts 10 effect modules described below. These real-time effects will help you to give a fullness to your compositions and to personalize them.
Each modules sound (instrument or effect) can be independently be sent to any effect.
You control the power of the original sound, that of the output, as well as all of the effect modules parameters. Now it's up to you to create...
Chorus
The chorus allows the "extension" of sounds by providing the illusion of an instrument multiplicity where there is one single generator. You can set the speed, the width and chorus feedback.
Compressor
A compressor effect, with a very efficient algorithm, keeps all the qualities of your sound.
All of the professional parameters can be changed, but many presets offer a more simple way of use for beginners.
You will principally use the compressor for these 3 effects:
Compress the sounds, to reduce their dynamics and raise the global volume.
Pump up the bass, stop the resonance in order to obtain very percussive sounds.
Reduce the attack level in order to keep a longer bass sound.
Distortion
Distortion allows the distortion of the sound produced by the Storm instruments. You can control the distortion rate, as well as the distortion output gain.
Dual Delays
The stereo delay allows the creation of echo / repetition effects on the sound created by the Storm modules. You may control the delay duration synchronically with the beat, as well as the separate feedbacks from the left and right sides. You also have left/right and right/left cross-feedbacks !
Flanger
Storm's flanger is synchronized to the beat. It allows you to create frequency come-and-go effects on all of your sounds, with a flange width and feedback control. Push it to the limit and it will produce incredible sounds !
LPFilter
LPFilter is a stereo low-pass resonant filter with a coefficient of 24 dB per octave. You may control the filter's cut-off frequency and resonance while viewing the graphic display of the frequency response curve. The sound parameters are saved with the piece, and may of course be controlled by MIDI protocol. An essential tool for special effects.
Reverb
REVERB is an effect allowing you to simulate the reverberation of sound against the walls of a room (something that happens rather often, unless you always play in open air, right in the middle of a desert!).
This reverb offers different types of rooms, the configuration of reverberation time, precision and absorption.
Ring Mod
Ring Mod : In brief, this ring modulator effect performs frequency modulation. You can adjust modulation frequency and depth. We advise you to use Ring Mod on percussion samples, particularly with the Tsunami drum machine or the Arsenic bassline.
Seq Filter
This original effect consists of a low-pass filter, the cut-off frequency of which is modulated in real time by a 16 step control sequencer. You also have access to the band width and to the filter resonance. Designed to perform breathtaking sound-morphing effects !
Vocoder
If you have ever dreamt of tampering with voices, playing with harmonies, creating metallic sounds ... then the Vocoder is for you.
The Vocoder effect includes a polyphonic synthesizer upon which you choose your note. It is based on a powerful synthesis algorithm which guarantees an effect which ranks with Storms best modules.
You can of course vocode yourself by recording your voice with EZTrack, but also use it to modify the sounds of any other Storm module.
