The Greenwood Collection –Special Edition Bim-Bam Chime Mission Mantle Clock only from Silverdollar Productions.
Our hand-made, Greenwood (GW) Special Edition Bim-Bam Mission Clocks remain as one of our best sellers. Usually only offered during certain times of the year, they have always sold out as quickly as we could list them for sale. Therefore, we have decided to offer this clock on a custom-made basis, and completed to your specifications. Each clock will be completely built from scratch giving you your choice of wood, colors, finishes and dials. Turnaround time from receipt of order/payment is about 2-weeks. We are happy to consult with you prior to ordering, and during the construction process.
Mission Clocks were known for their simple straightforward design, and for incorporating fine woodworking techniques into the finished design. They were popular in the early 1900's and have seen a recent rise in popularity, being used with many styles of decor.
Why are our GW Special Edition clocks different?
Our Greenwood Collection is comprised of tried-and-true classic and original clocks made entirely from reclaimed wood. Wood that would normally end up at the land fill, such as shipping pallets and crates, is transformed into beautiful original pieces. Each is a one-of-a-kind clock made to exacting standards and featuring a fine hand-rubbed tung oil finish. Due to the unique graining of this wood, each clock will have its own characteristics, and no two will ever be identical. Each clock comes numbered and archived into our database.
This is our Special Edition version of the classic Mission Mantle clock - made entirely out of wood from a shipping pallet. You will have a choice of wood - usually Oak or Maple (other woods may be available, or a specific type can be purchased at additional cost -- don’t be afraid to ask!).
NOTE: We received a batch of white oak, Brazilian cherry, and Cyprus a few months ago. Cherry is available in mostly dark, or blend of dark and light. The Oak is mostly gone, but there is a bit left, and we still have the Cyprus.
In addition to our high quality craftsmanship, look at some of the features and choices on this clock:
- Solid wood case, including solid dial board and back
- 4 Different heavy stock dials are available mounted with brass screws and brass hands (black or Brass hands available at no extra cost).
- Optional false, metal winding arbors – These are real, steel winding arbors made to complete the look of a 90 year old clock. So real looking, you actually might think you need to wind the clock!
- An unique quartz/mechanical movement. The clock is quartz accurate. The Bim-Bam Strike is mechanical. Like clocks made 90 years ago, this movement uses two strike hammers to strike on two separate chime rods. The sound is crisp and loud. Sounds real, because it is real. The movement is run on a single “D” Cell Battery.
- A brass swinging pendulum.
- Solid wood door with glass and decorative vertical insets.
- Finished with your choice of stain and clear tung-oil carefully hand-rubbed over 5 days for a fine finish. Our most popular finishes are Red Oak, Mission (brown) Oak, and Natural wood color.
Measures 17"H x 11-1/2"W x 5"D.
