On offer are six Victorian cards found among other recently listed pieces in an old scrapbook. As pictured below, the lot includes:
Top Row Left: A 3-1/2" by 4-3/4" card featuring a quote from the 42nd Psalm. The stain in the upper left corner may well have been caused by spillage of the glue used to stick many of the cards in the scrapbook. Very slight scrapbook page residue on the back and otherwise in good condition.
Top Row Center: A 3" by 4-1/2" card featuring a Victorian girl and a quote from St. Paul's letters to the Corinthians. In good condition with no scrapbook residue.
Top Row Right: A 2-3/4" by 3-1/2" embossed card with a gospel quote. In good condition with no scrapbook residue.
Bottom Row, Left: A 3" by 4-1/2" embossed card featuring a squirrel climbing a tree and a small child who has apparently fallen asleep in the woods after collecting a wagonful of flowers. There is considerable scrapbook residue on the back.
Bottom Row Center: A 3" by 4-1/2" embossed card featuring two children and their dog and carrying the caption " With fondest love." There is a small area in the bottom left corner which appears to have been stuck to another card with resultant residue. There is also slight scrapbook residue on the back.
Bottom Row, Right: A 2-1/2" by 4" card with a man leading a bear on a chain. The bear is holding a blank banner and is followed by a group of children. There is a small tear in the bottom edge and some damage to the bear's right leg and stomach. The back is discolored
