Up for bid is an item that a guy I work with found. He said something about it looking like some kind of meteor or asteroid, or whatever it's called once it comes to earth. I think it would be pretty cool if it were some kind of rock from out of this world- some kind of Area 51 thing or something. Honestly, I think it's just a rock.
This thing has clearly been under some intense heat though. It has an outer shell that is kind of tan colored, but it seems pretty thin. It reminds me of welding slag- if it is struck it will pop off and expose the shiny black interior. You can see in the pictures that it has a pretty porous structure, but it is all very slick and shiny- it looks a lot like black glass. It has been cracked and split open on one end, so a good bit of the black part is exposed. I didn't think to measure it- but we took a picture of it on one of those 33 gallon Rubbermaid trash cans (for your reference.) I would guess it is probably 6" across at the widest part and maybe 2 to 3" thick. It might weigh 2 or 3 pounds.
Feel free to ask any questions- but I can't tell you much more than what it physically looks and feels like. Shipping will be $10 which will include packaging. Insurance is extra if you want it. Thanks for looking.
