DESCRIPTION
You are bidding on an original, one-of-a-kind production cel, used for the making of the classic 1980s Astro Boy (Tetsuwan Atom) TV series. Created by the Godfather of Japanese animation, Dr. Tezuka Osamu, in conjunction with NBC in the USA. This series was shown in Australia, the USA, and Canada. Astro Boy was voted number two on the list of the 50 best robots of all time by Wired Magazine.

Wonderful close-up image of Astroboy in his school clothes. Comes with very rare, non-matching hand-painted Astroboy background featuring the roller coaster from Episode #3: "Save the Classmates". The cel has signs of wear, including scratches and discoloration, as well as trace-line fade that is visible in the scan. It came from the studio in it's current condition, stapled inside of a black mat frame. The cel is now stuck to the background as one would expect in cels of this vintage. Standard sized cel that measures about 10 inches by 12 inches including mat frame. Sure to be a treasured addition to any Astro Boy fan's collection!
